Jay Bernhardt, founder of Mercury Media Group, had a vision in 2003 to revitalize his old hometown newspaper, Richfield Springs Mercury. 

Richfield Springs Mercury had been dormant for quite a few years, but with a unique vision and a strong supporting staff of dedicated media professionals, Jay was able to bring the Richfield Springs Mercury back to life with style.  After seeing his new venture create such a buzz in the community, Bernhardt decided to try his hand at other publications, and after 3 more years of growth, his resulting line-up of publications is an impressive one. 

Complimenting the Richfield Springs Mercury is the Route 20 Pulse , New York Canal Times , two real estate guides, Lake Country and Adirondack Country House and Home , and his upcoming newest release, Route 66 Pulse .

Along with Bernhardt's growing list of unique publications came the acquisition of three commercial printing facilities in Upstate New York, Mohawk Valley Printing, Barton Butler Graphics, and Fort Plain Printing.
